Ok ok ok!
I'm sorry, I haven't updated. I'm a terrible person! :-)
Things have been hectic since I've recuperated and returned to work.
Tuesday nights we've got softball (PEM plays, I cheerlead...lol), Wednesday nights is darts (we finally won a couple of games!!), Thursdays-Saturday, I'm typically working. So, Sunday is clean house day and Monday is the only day that I can rest...or more often than not...meet the girls for dinner or something.
Work is busy but good. I've been trying to get used to my new smaller space and extra workload. I have an office-mate, and will continue to do so until we move to a larger office building (not holding my breath). We merged with another small company, so we are squished in once again. It's annoying, but we are making the best of it and forming new and different relationships.
This Friday we are having a staff meeting, followed by a cocktail/meet-greet hour. Time to get to know our co-workers - particularly the new ones that work in a separate building from some of us.
It's going to be interesting. We have a new company name, that will be pushed to the public at the beginning of the year.
PEM is doing well. Working too much as usual. Add to the schedule I put out there for myself...on Mondays and Thursdays he umpires. So, we're pooped a lot. BUT, we get to enjoy each other when we can and we take full advantage of our down time.
Hope all is well.

Winter blues
This past week has been rough. Last Friday, I got into work early so I could leave early. Then drove to Montgomery to Casino. I finally got home around 430am. Then worked again Saturday. Sunday, instead of Super Bowl watching, we played cards. The game was on in the background.
Sunday, I also started getting sick. I guess it was time. I hadn't really been sick this winter. Ugh. Cough, sore throat, fever, chills - the first and second day. I'm down to just the cough now, but it is ANNOYING. Trouble sleeping (it's not even 5 am right now) with this cough is NOT helping.
Other than that, things are ok. I sold my little white car and have been able to pay a big chunk back to my ex-father-in-law. Work is ok, interesting, really. We've hired a tenth employee. Now, four of the offices are doubled up with people. One employee is working in the "kitchen" with the fridge and the main computer. And me, up front with the fax, water cooler and of course all of the foot traffic. We are in desperate need of a larger space, and hopefully something will be done about it soon! (before we all go looney)
I'm working this weekend and then on Sunday I'm having a TOY PARTY!!! :-) I've NEVER been to one and here I am hosting one. There will be about 20 girls, we will have a chocolate fountain (a friend is lending it to me), all the stuff to dip in it (bananas, marshmallows, pretzels, cheesecake bites, etc), and a couple of other snack-y type foods. I'm looking forward to it!!!
On a personal note, my friend Joe - who lived with us (Corey and me) on two separate occasions - is getting married on February 29. Unfortunately, since it's on a Friday, I won't be able to go down for it, which stinks, but I'm very excited for him. He is the youngest of three boys and the only one to get married.
Well, I'm tired. I'm going to try to get some sleep.

Let's Talk Turkey!
Today our office is having their annual Thanksgiving pot luck lunch. I made mashed potatoes. Mmmmm. Other foods include a salad, corn, bread, dessert, etc.
We're having a ham and a small turkey. Mmmm.
My mom flies in Thanksgiving day just before 8am. I'm looking forward to her visit. We are actually spending the actually TURKEY day at one of the Casino Families' homes. I'm excited about it. Mom has met most of them before and was glad to be invited over. :-)
On either Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, we will have my in-laws and Alex over for a big Turkey meal. This will be the first time my mom and my in-laws have met. I figure since the meeting with my Dad, brother and step-mom went ok, I shouldn't have much to fear over this one.
It's nice to have family over at the house. :-) (Speaking of which, my in-laws, Aunt-in-law and her son will all be over this weekend. They are taking us to see Blue Man Group on Sunday!!)

Hello hello!
Hi friends. I won't even go into how sorry I am for not posting, I know you're tired of hearing it....
Lots going on.
Last week I spent 3 hours at the airport. No, I wasn't traveling, I met Corey there for dinner. He had a layover so I went down there and had dinner with him. It was good. Caught up and reminisced. The usual.
Casinoing is picking back up again, that goodness. My croupier skills were getting a bit rusty, but it's like riding a bike, you just hop back on and it all comes back to you.
We have a bunch going on soon. Next week, my parents-in-law, two of my sisters-in-law and their husbands, will be coming over for dinner at our house. Sarah and Jim (live in NY) and Catherine and Oscar (live in Arizona) will be visiting the in-laws (in South Carolina) for a week or so. Since Sarah and Jim will be going back home during the week, they will come to our place for an evening. That weekend, we'll go to SC to stay the weekend with the parents, Catherine and Oscar. Should be a great weekend. :-)
At the end of October we normally camp out at the races for the weekend. This year, with PEM's job change we've had to cut back on the spending, so we decided to have a party at the house instead. My Dad, step-mom and brother will all be visiting for the weekend as well!!! So, we've invited a bunch of folks to come over to watch the race Sunday and meet my family. My in-laws will come that Friday or Saturday as well so that they can finally meet my family.
In November (on a Sunday), we are going to see Blue Man Group with my in-laws, and Paul's aunt and her son. They will be here performing (just about 15 mins from the house!) and we've talked for 2 years with Auntie about going to see them. Now is our chance!
The weekend after that is Thanksgiving. My mom is coming up! Yes, she has her tickets already and everything. My in-laws will come over that Friday or Saturday to meet her! I am working on getting the boys and Alex here for that weekend as well, but am not sure how much progress I'll make. I think we'll get Alex (unless they are going out of town), but the boys are much harder to schedule (imagine that...*pout*).
Other than that......we are working 4 nights next week casinoing. Like I said, it's picking up! I'm sure we'll work nearly every Friday and Saturday from now until the end of December, too (with the exception of actual holiday weekends and weekends that we BEG to have off).
*sigh*
I do love the paychecks. And I love keeping busy. Of course the best part is coming home, soaking in the hot tub, then curling up with PEM and the kitties in bed and relaxing together after the day is done.
