Who needs a toilet when a tree or sink will do?

Ok, I DO.

I saw the title of this article

Parents begin potty training at birth

and thought...wow!! That is a cool idea! Then I read the article.

Here are a couple of snippets:

Thirteen-month-old Dominic Klatt stopped banging the furniture in the verandah, looked at his mother and clasped his right hand around his left wrist to signal that he needed to go to the bathroom.

His mother took the diaper-less tot to a tree in the yard, held him in a squatting position and made a gentle hissing sound — prompting the infant to relieve himself on cue before he rushed back to play.

Why didn't she take him in the HOUSE to the TOILET to go??????

And what about this one:

Isis Arnesen, 33, of Boston, has a 14-week-old daughter, Lucia, who is diaper-free. She said it can be awkward to explain the process to people, such as when she helped Lucia relieve herself in a sink at a public restroom.

She was already IN THE RESTROOM. Why the sink???? Gross and unsanitary!

Both of these women could have proven (to ME at least) how worthwhile this is if they had ended the sentence with, "took him/her to the bathroom to RELIEVE HIM/HERSELF in the TOILET".

Maybe just maybe, these two women are in the minority of where they choose to let their children defecate. I sure hope so. I do like the idea of a diaper free baby, but if that means I have to wait in line to wash my hands while your child pees in a sink or that I may just step on baby poop in your yard, then forget it!

Stinky smiles, lulu
